Winthrop University: Paul Martyka Retrospective

Winthrop University Galleries exhibition Seeds to Sow: Remembering Paul Martyka (1950-2016) celebrated the artistic achievements and academic career of the late Winthrop Associate Professor Emeritus Paul Martyka.

The exhibition is representative of art’s ability to create community. Approaching this exhibition was an exciting undertaking because it truly was a community effort. From the beginning, Winthrop University Galleries worked closely with Paul’s daughter Sarah Fraker, her husband Dee, and alumni and good friends Chris Clamp ’01 and Janice Mueller ’99, to create an exhibition of work to celebrate Paul’s artistic skill and educational legacy.

This project was close to Carolyn’s heart as Paul Martyka was a mentor and a very dear friend.
